OUR LADY OF RANSOM CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL REQUIRE: Site Apprentice
Salary Range: £8.00 per hour (apprentice wage)
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week (8am-4pm) (4 days on site 1 day at college)
Weeks Worked: Full Time – 52 weeks per year
Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Primary School is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Site Apprentice to join our welcoming primary school’s premises team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in facilities management, maintenance, or site operations within an educational setting.
Working under the supervision of the school caretaker, you will assist in ensuring the school environment is safe, clean, secure, and well-maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors. You may from time to time be required to work within other schools in the Trust
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general maintenance and minor repairs across the school site
- Support the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and facilities
- Help maintain a safe and secure environment, including opening/closing the site
- Assist with health & safety checks and compliance tasks
- Support with setting up rooms for school events and activities
- Learn basic skills in plumbing, electrics, carpentry, and grounds maintenance
- Daily cleaning duties
What We’re Looking For
- Be a team player who takes pride in the appearance and maintenance of the MAT’s buildings and grounds.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good practical skills or interest in maintenance work
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Strong awareness of health and safety (or willingness to learn)
- Basic IT skills, including use of email
